Introducing Picture Burgess Park!

Picture Burgess Park is a photography competition organised by the Friends of Burgess Park.

The park is about to undergo major transformation - the aim of the competition is to help record what Burgess Park means to locals and how we are affected by the changes, collecting the best images showing Burgess Park as it is now, as it develops and what it will become.

We'll be inviting local photographers - pro and amateur, old and young - to send pictures on certain themes; we'll also be organising a series of community events to mark key moments in the competition.

Starting with our memories, every few months the theme will change, representing all the different aspects of the park.

At the end of each theme, we'll judge the best pictures and have a small exhibition in the park.

In March 2012, at the completion of the revitalisation, we will select the best photos for a final exhibition and a book.

We'll be holding five events that will launch each change of theme. All are opportunities for people to meet the Friends, meet other park people,
and find out about all the things to see and do in the park.

E-mail your pictures to friendsofburgesspark@gmail.com and we'll upload them onto this blog
