Memory: a summer afternoon last year sketching blooms and taking photographs in Chumleigh Gardens

> I took these in August last year in Chumleigh Gardens. There was a nice light that afternoon and in addtion I managed to take out a sketch pad and draw some of the amazing flower heads. Is the park forgetting?

This is a memorial to four people involved in creating Burgess Park, who apparently sadly died in an air crash 32 years and 3 days before this photo was taken. The memorial is showing signs of aging; how long before exposure to the elements makes the names illegible?

Empty bench has not forgotten?

Maybe the people who used to sit here and reflect on their memories of life have gone but the lonely bench remains, looking out stoically in to the empty grey London sky.
